In 2013, I set out to experiment with doing royalty split deals with translators.
In 2017, I withdrew my self-published translations – mainly because I couldn't maintain marketing in languages I couldn't speak or understand. I decided to focus on rights licensing through my imprint, Curl Up Press.
In 2019, I produced 3 books in German after online sales took off. I used Deepl, an AI translation tool, for the first draft and then human editors to complete the books as well as a number of beta readers.
